The first Samson flew in 1948, and in 1985 Wolf Aircraft USA made a
replica which is still flying today. Steve Wolf later applied his expertise
to the improved Samson II, one of the most capable aerobatic showplanes in the
world.
This performance is shared by the Hyperion Samson II 70e. And, like
all Hyperion models, the Samson II features the very best of materials, finish,
and attention to detail. Easy “ARF” building, superb performance
and great looks!
The Samson II has been extensively test flown in a multitude of configurations,
all using the new Hyperion Zs4025 motor. Depending on chosen wind, this powerhouse
of a brushless motor is so flexible that it can be driven from 5S to 8S lipo
packs. Our many test flights have demonstrated that 5S is recommended for sports
flying, where 6S supports also very powerful 3D capabilities. An 8S setup is
not recommended unless you already own lipos for this configuration. The lower
weight of 5S or 6S suits the Samson II better.
